LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The Permaculture Calgary Guild operates on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3).
We are grateful to live, play, grow, learn and work in this ancestral and traditional territory. We acknowledge the teachings and generosity that this land has given us and all people who make Treaty 7 their home.
As Permaculturists, we strive to build holistic relationships with the land and encourage a reciprocal balance of giving and taking. Just as those who were here for centuries before us.
We honour and acknowledge the contributions of Indigenous peoples worldwide in shaping the foundational principles and ethics that govern the Permaculture paradigm.
In efforts to decolonize our work, we will listen to, learn from, and support Indigenous communities.
